A vulnerability has been discovered in Digital Music Pad, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to the application bundling a vulnerable version of mfc71u.dll, which loads libraries (e.g. mfc71enu.dll and mfc71loc.dll) in an insecure manner. This can be exploited to load arbitrary libraries by tricking a user into e.g. opening a M3U or PLS file located on a remote WebDAV or SMB share.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code, but requires that files are opened via the Windows Explorer "Open With" menu.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 188.8.131.52.4. Other versions may also be affected.
