Description

Some vulnerabilities have been reported in Lhaplus, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

1) A vulnerability is caused due to the application loading libraries (e.g. 7-ZIP32.DLL) in an insecure manner. This can be exploited to load arbitrary libraries by tricking a user into e.g. opening a LZH or ZIP file located on a remote WebDAV or SMB share.

This vulnerability is confirmed in version 1.57. Prior versions may also be affected.

2) A vulnerability is caused due to the application loading an executable in an insecure manner and can be exploited by tricking a user into e.g. opening a LZH or ZIP file located on a remote SMB share.

This vulnerability is reported in version 1.57. Prior versions may also be affected.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerabilities allows execution of arbitrary code.

Update to version 1.58 or later.
