A vulnerability has been reported in various Cisco products, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error when processing certain packets and can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow via a specially crafted packet sent to certain TCP ports (e.g. 443 or 1741).
The vulnerability is reported in CiscoWorks Common Services versions 3.0.5, 3.1, 3.1.1, 3.2.0, and 3.3.0 for Windows and Solaris. Please see the vendor's advisory for a complete list of products that are affected by this vulnerability.
Solution: Upgrade to Common Services version 4.0 or apply patches.
