Description

A security issue has been discovered in VMware Server, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to disclose sensitive information.

The security issue is caused due to an input validation error in the VI Web Access interface and can be exploited to access arbitrary files via directory traversal sequences sent to TCP port 8307.

The security issue is confirmed in version 2.0.2 build 203138 for Windows. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution
Grant only trusted users access to affected systems.
