A weakness has been reported in Pidgin, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The weakness is caused due to an error when handling certain MSN direct connection (P2Pv2) packets. This can be exploited to cause a NULL pointer dereference error and crash the process via specially crafted packets.
