Description

Debian has issued an update for php5. This fixes a security issue and some vulnerabilities, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to perform certain actions with escalated privileges and by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions and cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

For more information:
SA41724

1) The security issue is caused due to a race condition within the PHP cronjob, which can be exploited to delete arbitrary files via symlink attacks.

Solution
Apply updated packages via the apt-get package manager.
