Description

A vulnerability has been discovered in Magic Music Editor, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to an error when processing CD Audio Track (CDA) files and can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via a malformed file stored in a specially crafted folder.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code, but requires tricking a user into opening a CDA file from a malicious folder e.g. extracted from an archive file.

The vulnerability is confirmed in version 8.12.1.2220. Other versions may also be affected.
