Hanno Boeck has discovered a vulnerability in phplist, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site request forgery attacks.
The application's web interface allows users to perform certain actions via HTTP requests without performing any validity checks to verify the requests. This can be exploited to e.g. add an arbitrary list or edit a list by tricking a logged-in administrator into visiting a malicious web site.
The vulnerability is confirmed in versions 2.10.13, 2.10.18, and 2.10.19. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: No official solution is currently available. The vendor has issued fixes for the vulnerability, however, the fixes are insufficient and only fixes certain attack vectors.
