Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in VLC Media Player, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

1) The application uses a vulnerable version of the libmodplug library.

For more information:
SA44388

Note: This may only affect the precompiled versions.

2) An integer overflow error within the XSPF demuxer can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow by e.g. tricking a user into opening a specially crafted XSPF playlist file.

VLC media player doesn't have so many vulnerabilities. if you are facing such situations then may your VLC media has some problem. please upgrade your VLC or download VLC media player you can visit http://www.vlcmediaplayerdownload.biz for the latest version of VLC.

As a new member U should note it is not advisable to "tag on" to Secunia Advisories in the Vulnerability Sub Forum particularly when the vulnerability in question (SA44388) has been fixed by a vendor patch.

http://secunia.com/advisories/44388/

If U want to know the "state of play" on the VLC player U should check the Secunia Advisories here & then create your own thread to comment or ask for help.
