CVE Reference(s):

Description

Two vulnerabilities have been reported in Qemu, which can be exploited by malicious, local users in a guest virtual machine to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) and gain escalated privileges.

1) The PIIX4 emulation allows to unplug non-hotpluggable PCI devices, which can be exploited to dereference invalid memory and e.g. execute arbitrary code.

2) The VirtIO implementation does not properly validate VirtIO queue notifications, which can be exploited to e.g. crash the virtual machine.

Solution:
Fixed in the GIT repository.

Provided and/or discovered by:
1) Nelson Elhage
2) Disclosed in a GIT commit.
