A weakness and a vulnerability have been reported in Zabbix, which can be exploited by malicious users to disclose certain system information and by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and SQL injection attacks.
1) Input passed to the "backurl" parameter in acknow.php is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
2) Certain input passed to the "srcfld2" parameter in popup.php can lead to a full path disclosure.
Successful exploitation of this weakness requires some administrative privileges.
3) Input passed to the "only_hostid" parameter in popup.php is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
Solution: Update to version 1.8.6.
Provided and/or discovered by: 1, 2) Reported by Damian Tommasino in a bug report.
3) Marcio Almeida
