Description


A vulnerability has been reported in Asterisk, which can be exploited by malicious users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to the use of uninitialised variables within the SIP channel driver when parsing certain requests, which can be exploited to cause a crash by sending specially crafted requests.

The vulnerability is reported in Asterisk versions 1.8.x prior to 1.8.7.1.


Solution:
Update to version 1.8.7.1 or apply patches.
