Two vulnerabilities have been discovered in Microsoft Windows, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges and by malicious people to potentially compromise a user's system.
1) An error in win32k.sys when validating input passed from user mode through the kernel component of GDI can be exploited to corrupt memory via e.g. a specially crafted web page containing an IFRAME with an overly large "height" attribute viewed using the Apple Safari browser.
2) A use-after-free error in win32k.sys when handling certain keyboard layouts can be exploited to dereference already freed memory and gain escalated privileges.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerabilities may allow execution of arbitrary code with kernel-mode privileges.
