Luigi Auriemma has discovered a vulnerability in SumatraPDF, which can be exploited by malicious people to potentially compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to the "fz_crash_abort()" function trying to write a NULL byte to an address that can be controlled by the attacker. This can be exploited to corrupt memory by e.g. tricking a user into opening a specially crafted PDF file.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 1.9. Prior versions may also be affected.
Solution: Apply fix from the GIT repository, or upgrade to version 2.0 or later.
