Two vulnerabilities have been reported in EPiServer CMS, which can be exploited by malicious users to bypass certain security restrictions and by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.
1) Certain unspecified input is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
2) The vulnerability is caused due to an unspecified error and can be exploited to gain administrative privileges.
Successful exploitation requires the "Edit mode" permission.
The vulnerability is reported in version 6.
Solution: Update to version 6 R2 released January 25th, 2012.
