Two vulnerabilities have been reported in Tiki Wiki CMS/Groupware, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks and compromise a vulnerable system.
1) Input passed to the "url" parameter in tiki-featured_link.php is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability requires that the "featuredLinks" feature is enabled.
2) Certain scripts use "unserialize()" with user controlled input, which can be exploited to e.g. create a cache file with arbitrary PHP code using the "__destruct()" method via a specially crafted serialized object passed in a POST request.
The vulnerabilities are reported in version 8.3. Prior versions may also be affected.
Solution: Update to version 8.4.
