Description

Two vulnerabilities have been discovered in Cisco Linksys PlayerPT ActiveX Control, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

1) A boundary error when handling the "SetSource()" method can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via an overly long "base64string" argument.

2) A boundary error when handling the "SetSource()" method can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted string provided as the "sURL" argument.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerabilities allows execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.0.0.15. Other versions may also be affected.
