Description

Charlie Eriksen has discovered a vulnerability in the Profile Builder plugin for WordPress, which can be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions.

The vulnerability is caused due to a predictable generation of the "key" parameter within front-end/wppb.recover.password.php and can be exploited to gain access to the change password functionality and change the password of an arbitrary user.

Successful exploitation requires the user name and the user ID to be known.

This vulnerability is confirmed in version 1.1.24. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution
Update to version 1.1.26.

Provided and/or discovered by
Charlie Eriksen via Secunia.
