Description

A weakness and multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in IBM Rational ClearQuest, which can be exploited by malicious users to disclose sensitive information and bypass certain security restrictions and by malicious people to conduct spoofing and cross-site-scripting attacks.

1) Certain unspecified input is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user.

For more information see vulnerability #2 in:
SA49438

2) An error in the application can be exploited to disclose encrypted passwords. No further information is currently available.

3) Certain unspecified input is not properly verified before being used to redirect users.

For more information see vulnerability #1 in:
SA49438

4) Certain unspecified input related to the web client is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

5) Certain unspecified errors can be exploited to disclose stack trace information.

6) An unspecified error in the "Site Administration" menu of the client can be exploited to access otherwise restricted functionality and e.g. adjust certain parameters.

7) Certain unspecified input related to the web client is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

The vulnerabilities are reported in versions prior to 7.1.2.7 and 8.0.0.3.
