A vulnerability has been reported in libjpeg-turbo, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise an application using the library.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error within the "get_sos()" function (jdmarker.c) when decompressing header information, which can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted JPEG image.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability is reported in versions prior to 1.2.1.
Solution: Update to version 1.2.1.
