Description


Two vulnerabilities have been reported in Eucalyptus, which can be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions.

1) An error exists within the Walrus service authentication mechanism when verifying credentials for REST requests and can be exploited to authenticate as an administrative user.

2) An error within the VMware Broker component authentication mechanism does not properly verify credentials for SOAP requests, which can be exploited to execute commands supported by the VMware Broker API.

The vulnerabilities are reported in versions 3.0.1 and prior.


Solution:
Update to version 3.0.2 or 3.1.0.
