Sebas Sujeen has reported a vulnerability in Squashfs, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to an integer overflow error within the "queue_get()" function (unsquashfs.c) when parsing archive files and can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted squash file.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow execution of arbitrary code, but requires tricking a user into opening a malicious file.
The vulnerability is reported in version 4.2. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: No official solution is currently available.
