Description


Some weaknesses have been reported in the GNU C Library, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) or potentially compromise an application using the library.

The weaknesses are caused due to integer overflow errors within the "strtod()", "strtof()", "strtold()", and "strtod_l()" stdlib functions when parsing input strings, which can be exploited to cause buffer overflows via overly long strings passed to the functions.

The weaknesses are reported in version 2.16. Other versions may also be affected.

Update to version 2.17.
