loneferret has reported some vulnerabilities in the SimpleMail plugin for WordPress, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion attacks.
Input passed via the "To", "From", "Date", and "Subject" fields of an email is not properly sanitised before being used to display emails. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site if malicious data is viewed.
The vulnerabilities are reported in version 1.0.6. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: No official solution is currently available.
