Description

Three vulnerabilities have been discovered in AXIGEN Mail Server, which can be exploited by malicious users to disclose certain sensitive information and manipulate certain data.

1) Input passed via the "fileName" parameter to index.hsp (when "page" is set to "vlf" and "action" is set to "edit") and to sources/logging/page_log_dwn_file.hsp (when "action" is set to "download") is not properly verified before being used to read files. This can be exploited to disclose or download arbitrary files via directory traversal sequences.

2) Input passed via the "fileName" parameter to index.hsp (when "page" is set to "vlf" and "action" is set to "delete") is not properly verified before being used to delete files. This can be exploited to delete arbitrary files via directory traversal sequences.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerabilities requires access to the Logging module.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 8.1.0. Other versions may also be affected.
