Red Hat has issued an update for icedtea-web. This fixes a vulnerability, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to an off-by-one error within the "invoke()" function (IcedTeaScriptablePluginObject.cc) when handling exception messages from events within an applet and can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow.
Solution: Updated packages are available via Red Hat Network.
