Ubuntu has issued an update for apt. This fixes a security issue, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct spoofing attacks.
The security issue is caused due to the application incorrectly handling repositories using "InRelease" files and can potentially be exploited to install altered packages via Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) attacks.
