Secunia Advisory SA53232

Where:

From remote

Impact:

Cross Site Scripting

Solution Status:

Unpatched

Operating System:

CVE Reference(s):

No CVE references.

Description

Michael Messner has reported two vulnerabilities in DIR-635, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and cross-site request forgery attacks.

1) Input passed via the "data" parameter to scripts related to System Check Ping is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

2) The application allows users to perform certain actions via HTTP requests without performing proper validity checks to verify the requests. This can be exploited to e.g. change login credentials and enable remote management when a logged-in user visits a specially crafted web page.

The vulnerabilities are reported in revision B1 version 2.34EU. Other versions may also be affected.
