Henri Salo has discovered a vulnerability in the Mail On Update plugin for WordPress, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site request forgery attacks.
The application allows users to perform certain actions via HTTP requests without performing proper validity checks to verify the requests. This can be exploited to e.g. change plugin settings when a logged-in user visits a specially crafted web page.
The vulnerability is confirmed in versions 5.2.1 and 5.2.2. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: The vendor has released a fix. However, the fix is not effective. No official solution is currently available.
