Description


Rack911 has reported multiple vulnerabilities in DirectAdmin, which can be exploited by malicious users to disclose sensitive information, manipulate certain data, and gain escalated privileges.

1) An error within the backup system can be exploited to read arbitrary files.

2) An error within the backup system can be exploited to overwrite arbitrary files with root privileges subsequently rendering the server inoperable.

3) An error within the reseller backup system can be exploited to overwrite certain files via e.g. symlink attacks or change ownership of certain directories subsequently rendering the server inoperable.

4) An error when restoring MySQL databases within the backup system can be exploited to execute arbitrary commands with elevated privileges.

The vulnerabilities are reported in versions prior to 1.44.0.


Solution:
Update to version 1.44.0.
