Description


A vulnerability has been reported in Juniper Junos, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable device.

The vulnerability is caused due to an error within the Flow Daemon (flowd) when handling certain telnet messages and can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow by sending a specially crafted telnet message.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code, but requires the telnet pass-through authentication to be configured on the firewall.

The vulnerability is reported in SRX Series Services Gateway running Junos OS versions 10.4, 11.4, or 12.1X44.


Solution:
Update to version 10.4S14, 11.4R7-S2, 11.4R8, 12.1X44-D15, 12.1X45-D10, or later.
