A vulnerability has been reported in Juniper Junos, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to an error when handling Protocol-Independent Multicast (PIM) join packets and can be exploited to cause a crash of the Routing Protocol Daemon (RPD) via a flooding attack.
Successful exploitation requires a Multicast VPN (NGEN MVPN) environment.
The vulnerability is reported in Junos OS versions 10.0 and later.
Solution: Update to version 10.0S28, 10.4R7, 11.1R5, 11.2R2, 11.4R1, or later.
