Seven Principles AG has reported a vulnerability in OpenLDAP, which can be exploited by malicious users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to a reference counting error within the rwm overlay implementation and can be exploited to cause a segfault by sending a sequence of a valid search request followed by an unbind request.
Successful exploitation requires slapd to be started with the rwm overlay.
