Description


Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Oracle Solaris, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to disclose certain sensitive information, manipulate certain data, and cause a DoS (Denial of Service) and by malicious people to manipulate certain data and cause a DoS.

1) An error within the kernel can be exploited to cause a crash or read, update, insert, or delete certain Solaris accessible data.

2) An error within the "CPU performance counters (CPC) drivers" subcomponent can be exploited to cause a crash.

3) An error within the "USB hub driver" subcomponent can be exploited to cause a crash.

4) An error within the "IPS repository daemon" subcomponent can be exploited to update, insert, or delete certain Solaris accessible data.

5) An error within the "Oracle Java Web Console" subcomponent can be exploited to update, insert, or delete certain Solaris accessible data.

6) An error within the "Cacao" subcomponent can be exploited to cause a crash.

The vulnerabilities #2, #3, and #6 are reported in version 10 and 11.1.

7) An error within the "Kernel/KSSL" subcomponent can be exploited to cause a crash.

8) An error within the "Oracle Configuration Manager (OCM)" subcomponent can be exploited to disclose certain Solaris accessible data.

The vulnerabilities #5 and #8 are reported in version 10

9) An error within the "Utility/User administration" subcomponent can be exploited to cause a crash.

The vulnerabilities #1, #4, #7, and #9 are reported in version 11.1.
