Vulnerability Lab has reported two vulnerabilities in multiple SonicWALL products, which can be exploited by malicious users to conduct script insertion attacks.
Input passed via the "valfield_1" and "value_1" POST parameters to ematStaticAlertTypes.jsp is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site if malicious data is viewed.
Successful exploitation requires permissions to create alerts.
The vulnerabilities are reported in Global Management System, Analyzer, and UMA E5000 versions 7.x.
Solution: Update to 7.1 SP1 and apply Hotfix 134235.
