Description

Gentoo has issued an update for mc. This fixes some weaknesses, which can be exploited by malicious people to potentially compromise a user's system.

The weaknesses are caused due to some errors when handling the preview of files within an archive by using temporary shell scripts, which can be exploited to potentially execute arbitrary shell commands by tricking a user into previewing certain files within a specially crafted archive file.

Solution:
Update to "app-misc/mc-4.8.7" or later.
