Description

xatr0z has discovered two vulnerabilities in w-Agora, which can be exploited by malicious users to disclose sensitive information and malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

1) Input passed to the "file" parameter in editform.php is not properly sanitised before being used to display files. This can be exploited to display arbitrary files via directory traversal attacks.

Successful exploitation requires valid administrator credentials. Also, "magic_quotes_gpc" has to be disabled in order to use arbitrary file extensions.

2) Input passed in the URL to editform.php is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 4.1.5. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution
Update to version 4.1.6.
