A vulnerability in Posadis DNS server versions 0.50.4 to 0.50.8 may be exploited by a malicious person to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused by a boundary error caused by Posadis not properly checking whether a specific DNS message contains a question section. A malicious person can crash the DNS server by sending a malformed message.

It is not known whether the vulnerability can be used to execute arbitrary code.

Solution
Upgrade to Posadis version 0.50.9.
