Description: A boundary error in SQLBase can be exploited by a malicious person to either crash the service or compromise the system.
The error is in the command "Execute" making it possible to trigger a buffer overflow by supplying more than 700 characters as the parameter (350 characters in version 8.0.0). This can either result in a DoS (Denial of Service) on the database or execution of arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges.
Succesful exploitation requires that the attacker is logged in. By using the SYSADM account and a blank password this is possible for the default ISLAND database. If this database has been removed a malicious person would need another valid username/password combination.
