Solution: The vendor was notified about the vulnerability in version 8.0.0 in January and released a new version (8.1.0), which should fix the vulnerability. However, the vulnerability is still present.
Filter traffic to the database (port 2155/tcp by default) allowing only trusted people access. Use strong passwords to minimise the chance of an attacker gaining access through a brute force attempt. Remove the default ISLAND database.
