Description

tcpdump has been found vulnerable to a Denial of Service vulnerability. It is possible to cause tcpdump to enter an infinite loop by sending a maliciously crafted ISAKMP packet (port 500/udp).

As tcpdump is used to sniff for traffic, this vulnerability could be used by a malicious person, to make it impossible for the system administrator to monitor the traffic.

This has been confirmed in versions 3.6, 3.6.3 and 3.7.1 using libpcap .6 and .7
