Description:
Multiple irc clients derived from ircII suffers vulnerabilities which can be exploited by malicious servers.

Malicious server administrators and users who are able to perform man-in-the-middle attacks may exploit buffer overflows, string format errors and other vulnerabilities to gain control of client systems.

The following clients has been confirmed vulnerable:
BitchX 1.0.c19
ircII
EPIC4 1.0.1
EPIC4 1.1.7.20020907
XChat 2.0.1
Other versions and other clients derived from ircII may be vulnerable too.

Solution:
Do not connect to untrusted servers or over untrusted networks.
