Description:
A vulnerability has been identified in "Eye of Gnome" (EOG), which is an image viewer and cataloging program included in GNOME desktop.

The vulnerability is caused by a format string error in the handling of filenames. A malicious person can exploit this by constructing a malicious image with a specially crafted filename and include it in an email or web page. If a user chooses to view the image from within an email client or browser that uses EOG as default viewer, the vulnerability will be exploited and potentially allow execution of arbitrary code on the user's system with the privileges of the user.

Version 2.2.0 and prior have been confirmed vulnerable.
