Description:
Apple QuickTime Player has been found vulnerable to a buffer overflow.

QuickTime Player fails to handle long URLs. By supplying an URL longer than 400 characters a buffer overflow is caused. This buffer overflow could be exploited to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the user.

It is possible to exploit this via a web page or HTML email by supplying a "quicktime://" URL.

Only QuickTime Player on Windows has been found vulnerable.

Solution:
Apple QuickTime Player 6.1 is not vulnerable.
