Description

Samba is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, which can be exploited by anonymous users.

The problem is that it is possible to cause a buffer overflow in the "call_trans2open()" function in "trans2.c". According to Digital Defense, this has been actively exploited since 1st April.

The vulnerability has been confirmed in versions from 2.2.5 to 2.2.8 on Solaris, FreeBSD, Red Hat, Gentoo, and SuSE.

Other unspecified buffer overflows has also been reported.
