Solution:
This vulnerability does not exist in Microsoft Windows Media Player 9.

If your systems are configured so that users have little privileges and write access has been restricted properly to system folders by using NTFS it is difficult, maybe even impossible to exploit this.

For unknown reasons the original advisory from Microsoft was removed shortly after it was published.
