Description: IBM has issued an update for lpd on AIX. This update closes a Denial of Service and local privilege escalation vulnerability.
The problem is that lpd fails to handle format strings in command line input. This could be exploited to execute arbitrary code with "root" or "printq" privileges. This could also cause the lpd service to crash.
