Description:
A vulnerability has been identified in Load Sharing Facility 5.1, which allows malicious, local users to escalate their privileges on a vulnerable system.
The problem is that the setuid root binary "lsadmin" reads the "LSF_ENVDIR" environment variable and uses it to locate the "lsf.conf" file. A malicious, local user can supply a path in "LSF_SERVERDIR" in the "lsf.conf", which points to his own version of the "lim" binary.
When "lim" is executed by "lsadmin", it is running with root privileges.
