Description: Red Hat has issued updated packages for sharutils. These fix a vulnerability, which can be exploited by a malicious, local user to escalate privileges.
The vulnerability lies in the utility "uudecode", which does not verify if it is writing to a file, a symlink or an open pipe. This could be abused if a local user decodes files into a shared directory like "/tmp".
