Description: A vulnerability has been reported in ezbounce, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a format string error in the "sessions" command. This can be exploited by supplying a specially crafted string containing format specifiers to the "NICK" command, which may allow execution of arbitrary code on the system with the privileges of ezbounce.
Successful exploitation requires knowledge of a valid username and password combination. Furthermore, the detach command must the enabled for the user.
An exploit is in the wild.
Reportedly, it is also possible to execute arbitrary commands without being logged in on the beta versions. However, execution of most commands will result in a crash.
